A four-storey, 95-flat residential development in Edinburgh, designed and
built to minimise the environmental impacts of the project over its design life. The
site is also mixed ownership, comprising private, shared and Housing Association owned
apartments, as well as a Special Needs unit. This project is part-funded by DETR with
the aim of developing a good practice guide to assist future developers in improving the
sustainability of their projects. |
Norton Park |
A major sustainable refurbishment project in Edinburgh, Norton Park has
been taken a derelict London Board school and transformed it into a very attractive and
energy efficient office facility. The building is owned and operated by the Albion Trust
as letted office accomodation for local charities. |

A competition winning design, now complete as part of the Glasgow 1999
Homes for the Future exhibition. This highly efficient design has a maximum 100 SAP
Rating. |
| Shettleston |
This development has a wealth of interesting design features but the most
intriguing of all is its use of hydrothermal energy from disused mine workings beneath the
site. |
